Presented by:
Nooshin Behroyan, founder and CEO of Paxon Energy & Infrastructure, is today's featured Forty Under 40 honoree.
Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Behroyan moved to the U.S. to attend UC Berkley and later UC Davis to earn her master’s degree in civil and environmental engineering. One of the biggest milestones for Behroyan and the company to date is being named the No. 9 fastest growing private company in the U.S., along with reaching 17,000% growth two years in a row.
"This growth is truly a testament of our expertise and passion for the industry, as well as the level of services and innovative approaches that we can provide to our clients, of whom 90% are referred/returned clients," she said.
As the CEO of her own energy business, Behroyan practices implementing positive social change by working with the nonprofit Miry’s List to help Afghan refugees entering the country find job placement at Paxon. Additionally, she supports women business owners by serving as board president of the National Association of Women Business Owners, San Francisco-Bay Area chapter.
Leading the company with empathy, Behroyan is excited to see the advancements Paxon and the rest of the energy industry makes in carbon-neutral and environmentally sustainable initiatives while maintaining a positive work atmosphere for her employees.
“If you feel bored or not challenged enough in your role, that’s the indicator that it’s time for a change,” she said. “You just have to be willing to make the effort and be ready to work hard – and sometimes really hard – for the change you wish to see.”
